Established in 1959, the Chetwynd Echo is dedicated to the community. The Echo is focussed on being a major communication source to be used for the benefit of the community and the good of the town.
As a community newspaper, the Echo brings its readers accurate and relevant information. The Chetwynd Echo is dedicated to the lastest community news. The main focus of the Echo is local events, but we also make every effort to inform our readers of provincial and fedral news stories and government announcements that are relevant to this community. We rely heavily on community input and feedback. The Echo is pleased to have a number of community columnist who contribute columns ranging from gardening and golf to health and religion.
Serving a northern rural community on a weekly basis gives us the priviledge of sharing with our readers information they would not otherwise receive. We are the sole newspaper for many residents. We serve the communities of Chetwynd, Hasler Flats, Moberly Lake, Hudson’s Hope and East Pine. As our name suggests, we strive to “echo” the people of our community.
