The Closer with Kyra Sedgwick moves to Mondays on Global Television

(TORONTO - Thursday, October 27, 2005) The one-hour critically-acclaimed drama The Closer moves to Mondays at 10pm following Prison Break, beginning October 31 on Global Television.
In her first lead role in a dramatic series, two-time Golden Globe Award nominee Kyra Sedgwick (The Woodsman, Something to Talk About, Hearts and Souls) stars as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, a CIA-trained detective who has been brought from Atlanta to Los Angeles to head up the Priority Murder Squad, a special unit of the LAPD that handles sensitive, high-profile murder cases. Johnson is chosen to lead the team because she is a world-class interrogator and when it comes to obtaining confessions, she is a closer.
When Johnson arrives in Los Angeles, she immediately finds herself thrust into a very different way of life. Her quirky attitude and her hard-nosed approach to her job immediately rub her colleagues the wrong way, as does the fact that she leapfrogged over many veteran cops to the elevated position of deputy police chief. Although she gets some support from her boss Assistant Police Chief Will Pope, for the most part she must fend for herself in a department dominated by men.
The series from the executive producers of Nip Tuck, The D.A. and NYPD Blue, co-stars J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man, Oz, Law & Order), Corey Reynolds (The Terminal), Jon Tenney (You Can Count on Me, Get Real), Robert Gossett (Arlington Road, Silk Stalkings), G.W. Bailey (The Jeff Foxworthy Show, Police Academy) and Tony Denison (Melrose Place, Chasing Papi).
The Closer airs Mondays on Global Television as follows:
