(TORONTO - Thursday, March 3, 2005) Former Kids in the Hall member Scott Thompson and host of the upcoming new series My Fabulous Gay Wedding on Global Television will make a guest appearance Friday, March 11 on Train 48. Thompson will play Lawrence Shaw, the Johnny Cochrane of gay lawyers, whom David hires for his defense. Train 48 will be on hiatus from March 14-31, with new episodes beginning in April.
Well known to fans as a member of Canada's famed sketch comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall, and for his stint on The Larry Sanders Show, Brampton, Ont., native Scott Thompson began honing his skills on the Toronto comedy scene as a member of the improvisational group the Love Cats.
Thompson has guest starred in More Tales from the City on Showtime and played a recurring role on NBC's Providence. His feature film credits include Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy, Mickey Blue Eyes, Super 8½ and Tart. In addition to touring with his one-man show The Lowest Show on Earth, Thompson wrote and co-produced the HBO documentary Uncle Saddam.
Produced by Protocol Entertainment, Train 48 is an innovative instant drama that blends news and current affairs, soap opera and audience interaction with the unfolding drama of a group of train travelers as they commute home from work. Filmed entirely in Global's Toronto studio, each episode is scripted, shot, edited and broadcast daily, with the actors improvising all of the dialogue.
Train 48 airs on the Global Television Network as follows:
Ontario/Quebec/Alberta - 7pm
Maritimes/British Columbia - 7:30pm
Manitoba/Saskatchewan - 11.30pm
