Global's got the premiere of The Contender

(TORONTO - Friday, February 25, 2005) The new unscripted drama series The Contender, which explores the human drama in and outside of the boxing ring, will premiere Monday, March 7 on the Global Television Network.
Executive produced by Mark Burnett, Jeffrey Katzenberg and Sylvester Stallone, this hour-long unscripted series will follow 16 aspiring boxers from training camp through a series of ring challenges as they pursue their dream of becoming a champion boxer and $1 million (US) in prize money.
Viewers will get a firsthand look into the real life hopes, triumphs and defeats of the contestants who will train with and be mentored by Stallone and five-time world champion fighter Sugar Ray Leonard.
The Contender premieres Monday, March 7 on the Global Television Network as follows:
