Global documentary Targa Newfoundland follows challenging car race
|
 |
(TORONTO - Monday, January 24, 2005) The new one-hour documentary Targa Newfoundland will air Saturday, January 29 on the Global Television Network. The annual automotive adventure held over a seven-day period features 90 cars racing over 2,000 kilometres on the paved roads of the eastern and central parts of Newfoundland.
Teams from Australia, United States and Europe join Canadians in bringing brand-new models and funky old cars to the scenic island for a week's worth of fun. The roads are challenging, twisting through remote seaports and busy suburbs alike. Along the way, a number of cars end up in the ditches, but many get back in the race.
Targa Newfoundland is being produced by TV2GO Inc. The documentary is produced by Lawrence Partington and directed by Carol Patterson.
Targa Newfoundland airs Saturday, January 29 on the Global Television Network as follows:
Maritimes/Ontario/Quebec/Manitoba/Saskatchewan/Alberta/British Columbia - 7pm
