(TORONTO – Thursday, August 25, 2005) – Dose is proud to present the exclusive event of the Toronto International Film Festival; The Dandy Warhols, live in concert, September 11, 2005 at the Mod Club.
The uber-hip, sex-and-drugs, up-all-night, underground all-stars known as The Dandy Warhols have not played Toronto in a couple of years. Together with Molson Canadian and Virgin Mobile, Dose is throwing a private show for over 100 lucky fans. 50 double passes will be given away in Toronto and fans outside Toronto have a chance to win an all expense trip for two, including:

The Dandy Warhols new album Odditorium or Warlords of Mars will be released in North America on September 13, 2005. Fortunately as The Dandy Warhols will be in Toronto the day before album release, fans will have the opportunity to meet the band as they will be doing an autograph signing at HMV Queen Street location in Toronto on Monday September 12 at 4:00 pm.

About The Dandy Warhols
Over the past decade, The Dandy Warhols have evolved as counter-culture icons, creating music that echoes the urban bohemia that is their lives. Formed in Portland, Oregon in 1994, The Dandy Warhols consist of members Courtney Taylor-Taylor (vocals, guitar), Zia McCabe (keyboards), Peter Holmstrom (guitar), and Brent DeBoer (drums). Strongly influenced by the likes of The Velvet Underground, Lou Reed, and Ride, the band started as an underground psychedelic outfit and was met with critical support in Europe after releasing Dandy Warhols Come Down. Their subsequent release, Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia (2000), received tremendous word-of-mouth respect from in-the-know hipsters and the college radio scene before garnering critical acclaim and mainstream recognition.
The Dandy’s have worked with the likes of Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran fame, Evan Dando, Nile Rogers, David LaChapelle, and were asked by David Bowie to be the opening act for his fall 2003 A Reality tour. Their discography reflects an eclectic blend, melting the form and chaos of classic rock, painfully beautiful balladry, country stomp, celebratory pop, Middle Eastern rhythms, layered guitars, wall-of-sound synthesizers, gorgeous vocal harmonies and clever, insightful songwriting.
