Fifteen finalists are poised for the challenge, and among them are Canada’s own Lukas Rossi and Jenny Galt.

Each one-hour episode features a different celebrity and weaves the star’s back-story with events from their last day.

• July 1 “John Belushi”
John Belushi is alone in L.A. and taking massive amounts of drugs. One final night of drug fuelled partying proves too toxic for his weakened body.

• July 8 “River Phoenix”
A disappointed River Phoenix drowns his sorrows in a cocktail of drugs that prove to be lethal. Final 24 investigates the events that led to his death.

• July 15 “Hunter S. Thompson
Cultural icon Hunter S. Thompson ends his life with a single bullet. Final 24 explores the events that propelled the famous gonzo journalist to end it.

• July 22 “Marvin Gaye”
Soul superstar Marvin Gaye provokes his father into shooting him twice. Final 24 delves into the Motown legend’s violent upbringing to uncover the lifelong power struggle with his authoritarian father.

The world-renown Calgary Stampede offers the richest afternoon in rodeo on showdown Sunday with $1 million in prize money.
