CanWest MediaWorks Inc. Appoints New Senior Vice President of Television and Radio Station Operations

TORONTO, Ontario – Kathy Dore, President of CanWest MediaWorks Television and Radio, today announced the appointment of Chris McGinley to the newly created position of Senior Vice President of Station Operations for CanWest MediaWorks Inc. In this position, Ms. McGinley will oversee the operations of all of CanWest MediaWorks Inc.’s television and radio stations, including Global Television and CH.
“Chris brings a wealth of experience and an outstanding track record to this new role,” said Kathy Dore, President of CanWest MediaWorks Television and Radio.
In her former position as Vice President of CanWest MediaWorks Western Region’s television assets, Ms. McGinley was responsible for the operations of nine Global and CH television stations across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Prior to that, Ms. McGinley served as General Manager of Global Television’s Alberta stations from 2000 to 2005, and held various, increasingly senior finance positions with WIC Television Ltd.
“I’m delighted to be taking on this new challenge,” said Ms. McGinley, Senior Vice President of Station Operations for CanWest MediaWorks Inc. “I remain committed to working with our local news and information teams to ensure our programming is reflective of the culture, community and market needs of each region.
Ms. McGinley received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and subsequently earned her Chartered Accountant designation. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
