CanWest MediaWorks Announces Sales Representation of ValuMail, a new Flyer Distribution Program to Reach High Rise Residences

TORONTO, ON – CanWest MediaWorks today announced a new sales representation agreement with ValuMail, a Canada Post based flyer distribution program to high-rise residences. Through a partnership with The Data Direct Group, whose focus is production and fulfillment, ValuMail will provide opportunities for clients to reach this hard-to-reach market.
“Until now, companies and marketers relied on apartment dwellers to pick up their flyers from building mailrooms,” says Kevin Bent, SVP Sales & Marketing, CanWest MediaWorks Inc. “Through the CanWest MediaWorks and ValuMail relationship, flyers will be cost-effectively delivered directly into the mailbox of individual apartment units. We are thrilled to help our advertising clients reach their target markets with ValuMail.”
ValuMail is a six inch by fourteen inch poly-bag designed according to Canada Post specifications. It will have high profile identification using a label on a clear plastic cover. This breakthrough distribution vehicle will increase advertisers’ reach of targeted high-rise residences and will deliver substantial savings to advertisers compared to Canada Post distribution costs.
CanWest MediaWorks is ValuMail’s Tier One multi-market sales representative in all markets across Canada served by the CanWest MediaWorks family of newspapers, including the Toronto marketplace. Phase one of ValuMail’s launch will take place in Windsor, Ottawa and select Greater Toronto Area markets during the month of October 2006 followed by further launches across Ontario and other points throughout the country in the coming months.
