Post Homes is Moving to Saturday

New, Expanded Features Help Re-launch Weekend Section in GTA

(TORONTO – Thursday, September 14, 2006) — There’s a new look and some fresh voices on the real estate scene in the Greater Toronto Area. Beginning Saturday, Post Homes is moving from Thursday to the Saturday pages of the National Post and bringing new content and features with it. Post Homes will once again publish every Saturday in the Toronto area edition of the National Post.

“Beginning in the September 16th issue, readers can expect to see a more comprehensive mix of real estate editorial, features and listings in the GTA,” said Gordon Fisher, Publisher for the National Post, “The new and improved Post Homes will meet the information needs of home buyers and sellers alike in one of the hottest markets in Canada.”

This fall, National Post introduces four new columnists to the pages of Post Homes on a weekly rotating basis, including Jeanhy Shim, President and Editor, of Urbanation on the condo market; Jason Mercer, Senior Market Analyst at CMHC, on the 905 low-rise market; Dorothy Mason, President of the Toronto Real Estate Board, on the GTA resale market and neighbourhoods to track; and Jim Murphy, Senior Director of Government Relations and Communications at Canadian Institute of Mortgage Brokers and Lenders, on the latest in mortgages and insurance.

New and expanded features in Post Homes include:

  • South Central Ontario Mapping Feature - All properties advertised in Post Homes will be plotted, mapped and included in a full weekly directory complete with locations, web addresses and contact information.

  • New Digs – This favorite now offers an expanded look with more images and details of the latest development on the market

  • Recent Transactions - This very popular section features double the coverage including new highlights “On the Market”, “Surreal Estate”, and “Home of the Week”.

Popular columns and columnists will continue to draw readers, including Constructive Criticism; the LiveGreen column on sustainable homes; Lynda Reeves on décor and renovation; and Kelvin Browne on architecture and design.

To celebrate these changes to Post Homes, the National Post is holding a contest to win one of four Whirlpool washer & dryer sets.  The contest starts Saturday, September 16th and runs until Friday, October 6th and is open to readers in the Greater Toronto Area. Interested readers will find contest details in this weekend’s edition of Post Homes.
