Canwest Mediaworks: Canada’s Home To Premium PGA Tour Events

(TORONTO) CanWest MediaWorks today announced details of a newly expanded, four-year partnership that will see Global Television and CH Television become home to Canada’s premium selection of PGA TOUR events for 2007 through 2010.
Under this landmark deal, CanWest MediaWorks’ PGA TOUR broadcast rights have grown to include a slate of 26 key, final-round events on the annual PGA TOUR roster. The PGA TOUR schedule has been restructured in 2007 with the introduction of the FedExCup, a new season-long points competition that concludes with the first-ever PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.
These prestigious marquee events include the World Golf Championships (in February and August); THE PLAYERS Championship (which moves from March to May); the Canadian Open, held at Angus Glen in Markham, ON (July); and three of the four PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup: the Deutsche Bank Championship, BMW Championship and THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola (all in September). The tournaments will air on both Global and CH networks.

CanWest MediaWorks’ 2007 PGA TOUR coverage begins Saturday, January 26 with the final rounds of the Buick Invitational, from La Jolla, California.
