Dose.ca to Launch New U2 Album With Unique Online Promotion

CanWest Site to be Exclusive Canadian Partner for CD Launch
(TORONTO) – CanWest MediaWorks Inc. is pleased to announce that U2 and its record label in Canada, Universal Music, have chosen Dose.ca, Canada’s online destination for youth-minded individuals, as the Irish band’s exclusive Canadian partner for an online scavenger hunt the band is holding to promote their new album, U218 Singles, which hits stores on November 21, 2006.
 
The two week contest, Hunt The Lyric, which begins this coming Monday, October 23, starts at U2.com and invites contest participants to search for excerpts of U2 lyrics on a host of international websites, including Dose.ca. Clues posted on the band's official website, U2.com, will guide contest participants in their search through those websites. The contest closes November 3.

Unique visitors to Dose.ca increased 19% in September 2006 over the same month in 2005 according to Media Metrics. As well, in August 2006, Dose.ca achieved an all-time high of 233,000 unique visitors.

Dose.ca is a unique, edgy, online entertainment destination. The site was recently re-launched and includes hot images, refined layout, cool contests and the latest entertainment news. Dose.ca consistently runs a series of exciting promotions and introduces new features focused on celebrities and nightlife.
