( Calgary ) Global News Calgary and Global News Edmonton will be the exclusive broadcaster of the Progressive Conservative (PC) Leadership Debate on Wednesday, November 15 th at 6:30 8:00 p.m. The debate airs live from the University of Calgarys MacEwan Hall, in partnership with the Calgary Herald, CJXX Radio in Grande Prairie and the Calgary Chamber of Commerce.
Global News has been in the forefront covering the provinces major political news and this debate is the perfect vehicle for us to provide our viewers with access to the PC leadership race, says Dave Budge, news director of Global Calgary. This will be a key event since the party leader chosen from this election will ultimately become the most powerful person in Alberta and Global News will be there to document the events.
All eight leadership candidates will participate in this debate and answer questions from a panel of journalists. The panellists include Global Edmonton News Hour anchor Lynda Steele, Calgary Herald columnist Tom Olsen and CJXX Radio news director Gord Sharp.
Questions will cover four major topics: Rural & Urban Economic Development and Structure, Health, Education, and Environment. The forum will be moderated by PC party president Doug Graham.
