Global News Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge To Broadcast Debate With Top Three PC Leadership Candidates

(Calgary) Global News Alberta will again be the exclusive broadcaster of the upcoming Progressive Conservative (PC) Leadership Debate on Thursday, November 30th which will air during News Hour at 6:15 p.m. The top three candidates, Jim Dinning, Ted Morton and Ed Stelmach, will participate in this last debate before decision day this Saturday, and will take place live from studios at Global News Calgary.
 
All three Global News Alberta stations (Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge) are broadcasting this debate live, CHQR AM 770 is simulcasting the audio portion, with the Calgary Herald as the print partner.
 
"Our first debate broadcast, with all eight candidates, was a great success and sparked a lot of public interest. With a second ballot and only three candidates left, Albertans are watching this race closely, which is why we wanted to bring them one last debate,” says Dave Budge, news director of Global News Calgary. “One of these men will be Premier in a few days, and whomever the party chooses will undoubtedly take the province in very different directions. There's a lot at stake, and we're pleased to be able to provide this exclusive debate for Albertans."
 
Viewers can participate by sending in questions for the candidates via e-mail at . The debate will be moderated by Global Calgary News Hour anchor Gord Gillies, with panellists including Global News Calgary’s Mia Sosiak, Global News Edmonton’s Fletcher Kent and Calgary Herald’s Tom Olsen.
