Air Canada and CanWest MediaWorks Partner to Launch New Sun Flight Pass Promotion

TORONTO, Dec. 1, 2005/ - Following the success of its initial flight pass
promotion, the North American Unlimited Pass, Air Canada has entered in to an
exclusive partnership with CanWest MediaWorks to launch its new "Watch the Sun
Pass" promotion.
The Watch the Sun Pass, part of the airline's new approach to competitive
ticket pricing, is a prepaid package of six one-way flight credits that allow
customers who purchase the package to use the credits to travel to a range of
popular destinations on Air Canada or Air Canada Jazz(tm). The credits are
valid for one year and passengers will need just one flight credit for each
direction of travel, including connecting flights.
"We chose CanWest MediaWorks as our media partner for Air Canada's first
Sky Pass promotion, which was extremely successful," said Nathalie Lajoie
Director, Tactical Services, Marketel Communications Inc., Air Canada's
marketing agency. "CanWest's ability to provide multi-platform media solutions
across all major Canadian markets and their willingness to work with our team
in creative ways made them the logical choice to partner with again on this
newest promotion."
The new "Watch the Sun Pass" campaign, which will launch on December 1,
2005, contest registration will commence on December 5, 2006. This campaign
will combine advertising on canada.com and on Global TV morning news in the
Ontario, Alberta, Quebec and B.C. markets. The ads will promote the new Air
Canada family of passes, and encourage customers to visit www.aircanada.com to
register for a chance to win one of five pairs of Flight Passes to the Sun.
Global TV morning news programs will also run live promo presentations to help
trigger contest entry, and the canada.com ads will direct visitors to the same
contest site.
