( Toronto) Global News Ontario will take the News Hour team out on the road for the fall 2006 version of “News from the Neighbourhood.” The five consecutive holiday season broadcasts will originate live from Scarborough, Mississauga, North York, Vaughan, and downtown Toronto beginning Monday, December 11 th through to December 15, 2006.
This is the second road trip for the newscast this year – the team visited cities and towns in the 905 region in June, the fourth "News from the Neighbourhood" series since Global News Ontario launched the feature in 2004.
News Hour anchors Leslie Roberts and Anne-Marie Mediwake will be joined by meteorologist Anthony Farnell and weather anchor Susan Hay with live commentary from Newstalk 1010 CFRB talk show host Bill Carroll. In addition to the day's news, "News from the Neighbourhood" is focused on hyper-local stories from each neighbourhood as well as fascinating profiles of local community heroes making a difference. The programs will also feature stories that will help provide GTA residents with fun holiday activities for the whole family and how they can get the most out of their holiday shopping experience.
“News from the Neighbourhood” will broadcast live everyday next week at 6 p.m. during News Hour and the public are invited to check out the newscast at each of the locations and meet the News Hour team.
