(Edmonton) Dennis Skulsky, President of CanWest MediaWorks Publications Inc, announced today the launch of Edmonton RushHour, a free morning news, sports and entertainment tabloid.
Copies of Edmonton RushHour will be available in select downtown locations each weekday at 6 a.m. beginning today.
Busy Edmonton commuters are looking for news-on-the-go, and Edmonton RushHour delivers the information they want, when and where they want it, said Mr. Skulsky.
Edmonton RushHour is packed full of useful information about whats going on in Edmonton today. From the streets of the city to Rexall Place, Edmonton RushHour will cover the citys hot spots for up-to-date news. Edmonton Rush Hour will also provide daily listings to help readers enjoy the rich and varied arts scene of the city that has been named the 2007 Cultural Capital of Canada. Readers will find the following content in upcoming editions:
- local, national and international news;
- sports news and scores from the previous day;
- lifestyle news, including useful information about health and well-being, technology and jobs;
- entertainment news, including television and local event listings.
Edmonton RushHour is the third RushHour publication launched by CanWest MediaWorks Publications Inc. in its ongoing pursuit of innovative opportunities to grow the business. Calgary RushHour, another morning print publication, was launched on February 20. Ottawa RushHour, which was launched in November, is a free, online news update and entertainment guide that fills the afternoon gap in news delivery in the Ottawa market. Both Edmonton RushHour and Calgary RushHour have been launched in print; however, plans are underway to make them available online in an easy-to-print PDF format.
