Launches new Auto section providing job postings and career path information |

Vancouver, British Columbia Career paths in the automotive industry have evolved greatly over the past decade. Not only do jobs in this sector pay more than ever, the range of job choices has also broadened allowing people of varying skills, education and experience to find rewarding work. And as automobiles become more technically sophisticated, so must the service and body shop technicians that work on them.
The career paths and spectrum of opportunities available in the automotive industry are not well understood, however, and to combat this, the New Car Dealers Association of BC (BCADA) has been focused on developing a strong recruitment program aimed at attracting new, bright young people to the automotive industry.
To support this initiative, the BCADA has partnered with working.com to launch a new, dedicated, automotive-focused section on working.com, Canadas fastest growing job site. The automotive site, which can be found at www.working.com/auto, will provide a rich resource of both jobs and information about career choices and the industry.
In B.C. alone, the number of people employed in the automotive service sector has
increased by 8% over the past five years, said John Doe, Job title, BCADA. The industry provides stable, long-term employment with many choices, and the working.com/auto site will be a fantastic vehicle to promote the opportunities available in our industry.
The dedicated section will showcase all job postings of members of the B.C. Auto Dealers Association, creating a rich database of job opportunities for job seekers, said Kim Peters, General Manager, working.com, CanWest MediaWorks. It will also help to develop a positive image of the automotive industry through providing regular articles, resources and information about this growing sector.
