(Toronto) The award-winning Global News Ontario team is set to launch the summer 2007 version of "News from the Neighbourhood", continuing their popular tradition of LIVE community-based newscasts.
Airing each evening from Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29, the special series will originate from a variety of GTA locations including Pickering, Milton, Maple (Canada's Wonderland), Orillia and Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto.
Anchors Leslie Roberts and Carolyn MacKenzie will be joined by meteorologist Anthony Farnell and weather anchor Susan Hay with live commentary from Newstalk 1010 CFRB talk show host Bill Carroll.
In addition to covering the day's major events, "News from the Neighbourhood" is focused on local stories from each neighbourhood as well as fascinating profiles of community leaders, the local arts scene, and residents making a difference.
"News from the Neighbourhood" will broadcast live everyday next week at 6 p.m. and the public are invited to check out the newscast at each of the locations:
- Monday, June 25 Yonge- Dundas Square in downtown Toronto,
- Tuesday, June 26 Pickering, Captains Walk on Liverpool Road,
- Wednesday, June 27 Milton, Milton Town Hall, 43 Brown Street,
- Thursday, June 28 Maple, Canadas Wonderland, 9740 Jane St. in front of Wonder Mountain
- Friday, June 29 Orillia, Port of Orillia
