CanWest MediaWorks Launches FPinfomart Mobile

New service delivers news and information to mobile devices
TORONTO, Oct. 5, 2005/ - CanWest MediaWorks today announced that
FPinfomart.ca, the premier Canadian provider of news and business information,
will begin providing delivery of its information resources to wireless
handheld devices such as the Blackberry(R) and the new generation of
Smartphones served by the Rogers Wireless network.

FPinfomart.ca provides customers from business and government with
targeted electronic media monitoring from over 275 Canadian and international
news sources, including Canadian and International daily newspapers,
newswires, TV and radio transcripts, and specialty trade journals. In
addition, customers can retrieve detailed data from Canada's largest single
business archive with more than 20-years of research on 300,000 Canadian
companies.

"With the launch of FPinfomart Mobile, customers will now have anywhere,
anytime access to FPInfomart.ca," said Arturo Duran, President of CanWest
Interactive. "It will provide a tremendous advantage to business, media,
corporate communications and sales professionals who spend a considerable
amount of time either traveling or conducting business outside of the office
by delivering up to the minute and reliable information and providing them
with the ability to respond quickly to changing or developing situations."

FPinfomart Mobile will initially be available to customers of Rogers
Wireless with the BlackBerry(R) Wireless Handheld(TM), developed by Research
In Motion (RIM), and the Audiovox SMT 5600 Smartphone by UTStarcom, and will
provide FPinfomart.ca subscribers with instant, on-the-go access to most of
the same features currently available on their desktops.

The new generation of Smartphones, which typically run on Microsoft
Windows Mobile software, have a microprocessor, high resolution colour screen,
memory and optional storage of up to 1GB so that information can be saved and
accessed later while the user is offline, such as when traveling by plane.

In addition to providing users with the ability to access, retrieve and
find information while on the go, FPinfomart Mobile features include
text-to-speech capability that allows users on the go to listen to the news,
view video news clips from Global TV, as well as receive instant updates of
news that matters to the user.

Although initially available to customers using the Rogers Wireless
service, FPinfomart Mobile will also soon be available to customers of other
service providers such as Bell Mobility and Telus.
