Open Casting Tour Comes To Calgary Third Canadian Date Just Added, Wraps Up North American Tour Saturday, April 8th at 'The Whiskey'

(TORONTO - March 30, 2006) - Global Television is pleased to announce that an additional Canadian date has this hour been confirmed for the casting tour of "RockStar: The Series". The open call will take place in Calgary, AB on Saturday, April 8th.
Returning to Global Television Summer 2006, the casting for season two of RockStar: The Series begins the high-stakes search for the lead singer of recently announced all-star group, Supernova - featuring Tommy Lee, Jason Newstead and Gilby Clarke - formerly of Motley Crue, Metallica and Guns n' Roses, respectively.
"The reaction and support we have gotten from the Canadian tour dates has been absolutely incredible", said David Goffin, Executive Producer, Mark Burnett Productions. "When the opportunity arose to build in another North American audition stop - no question, we knew it had to be in Canada. Calgary has always been a terrific music city, so we're looking forward to a great day."

'Rockstar' is the only US produced television program that casts internationally. In addition to the North American leg of the tour, producers have packed their bags for a variety of international locations including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Iceland and Malaysia to find what Goffin describes simply as, "the BEST frontman or woman in the world".
The highly-buzzed 'Rockstar' tour kicked off officially kicked off in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, March 1 -- with a select twelve cities across North America approved for hopefuls to showcase their skills. The Toronto and Vancouver dates were held earlier this month, with record turnout, and over 1000 entrants flooding the Toronto stop.
