Do Canadians Prefer A Good Night's Sleep - Or A Night Of Sex?
Global National Finds Out

Canada’s Leading National Newscast Introduces
“Pulse of Canada” and “Everyday Heroes” Special Series
(VANCOUVER - March 2, 2006) Global National, Canada’s leading national newscast, is launching a series of unique, feature reports that will uncover the major issues affecting Canadians.

“Pulse of Canada" will examine everything from East to West, money to sex and everything in between, this series takes a candid look at what real Canadians have to say. For instance, do Canadians prefer to have a good night’s sleep or a night of sex? Are kids safe at their own school? Do mothers prefer to stay at home and look after their kids or stay in the workforce?

“Everyday heroes”, Global National anchor and executive editor Kevin Newman travels throughout the country to discover and unveil four exemplary Canadians who are accomplishing extraordinary feats that are making a difference in the world.

Pulse of Canada – Daily, Beginning Monday, March 6: Delivering unprecedented stories on issues that matter most to Canadians: 'Where I live', 'my health', 'my safety' and 'my family'. Global National will harness the power of the Internet in an Ipsos-Reid survey to gain access to more than 8,000 Canadians and uncover their opinions and attitudes about these topics.

Global Television’s regional newscasts will also be part of the "Pulse of Canada" series, providing viewers at the local level with in-depth analysis to shed some light on local differences and perspectives.

Everyday Heroes - 4 Part Series - Weekly, Beginning Friday, March 3: Kevin Newman features four of Canada’s greatest heroes and their amazing accomplishments in improving the lives of others. Kevin begins the series by profiling the efforts of a Vancouver teacher who against all odds, when everyone else gave up, is set on helping inner city kids who can’t read and opening the doors to their futures.
