"Morning Mugs"
The News Hour With Leslie Roberts - 6pm ET Beginning Monday, March 6th |
 |
(TORONTO - March 1, 2006) The News Hour Anchor Leslie Roberts produces and presents the latest in his 'On Assignment' series of exclusive feature reports.
Beginning Monday March 6, Roberts goes behind the scenes of the political and highly competitive FM radio wars with Morning Mugs - a five-part special series profiling the faces behind the voices of Ontario's most popular FM morning drives. For millions of loyal radio listeners and Global News viewers who have ever wondered "what they're like" .... The News Hour delivers the story.
Monday, March 6th: Dean Blundell of 102.1 The Edge.... Provocative and often over-the-top, some have called him 'the Howard Stern of Canada'. Roberts visits with Blundell in studio and at home - where, with three kids under the age of 6, viewers will see a different side to the morning-drive bad boy.
Tuesday, March 7: Roger, Rick and Marilyn of 104.5 CHUM FM... Canada's #1 morning show now celebrates 20 years together. What's the secret? Roberts gets the inside story.
Wednesday, March 8: Humble Howard of Mix 99.9... Now flying solo (without his longtime partner Fred Patterson), the irreverent and hilarious Howard Glassman lives a very different life away from the mic. A seasoned pilot, Glassman invites Roberts to join him for a private flight above Toronto harbour to discuss surviving in the wild world of radio.
Thursday, March 9: John Derringer of Q107... Outspoken and fast on his feet, Derringer is the hero for generations of die hard rock radio listeners. Now a new dad in his early 40s, Derringer invites Roberts into his home - where he's upfront about the job, the industry, and meeting his latest challenge - diaper duty.
Friday, March 10: Erin Davis and Mike Cooper of 98.1 CHFI... The real story behind the high-profile staff shuffle at CHFI. Roberts gets a rare upclose with the hugely popular Davis and Cooper.
