(TORONTO - February 20, 2006) - Global Television is pleased to announce the return of the summer smash hit "Rock Star: The Series" with open calls in Toronto on March 13th and Vancouver on March 23rd.
Returning to Global Television Summer 2006, the season two casting begins the high-stakes search for the lead singer of what producers have revealed will be "an all-star rock 'n' roll supergroup".
The much-buzzed tour portion for 'Rockstar' officially kicks off in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, March 1 -- with only twelve locations across North America selected for hopefuls to showcase their skills.

- Last year up to 1,000 Canadians auditioned for the coveted spot, and the numbers are expected to double for season 2 with the Canadian submissions already reaching 30%.
- The open casting call is for men and women 21 years and up with singing styles ranging from John Mayer-style singer/songwriters, to singers like Chester of Linkin Park, Joss Stone or Amy Lee of Evanescence.
