Global Launches Massive National Advertising Campaign to Promote New Brand Image

One of the largest outdoor media campaigns ever in Canada to generate over 1.2 billion impressions nationally in its first month |

(TORONTO, ON, February 2nd, 2006) Starting next week, consumers across Canada will become much more familiar with the programs, stars and news personalities appearing on Global Television. On Sunday, February 5th, the network will be launching a new outdoor campaign in support of its revitalized brand image, featuring key quotes from some of Globals leading primetime characters and news personalities. The network will also be promoting its new brand identity in newspapers, on radio and through extensive on-air advertising.
Representing the largest national campaign to date for Global Television, the rollout will feature one of the most extensive outdoor initiatives ever launched in Canada - one that will generate over 1.2 billion impressions nationally over a four-week period.
We are introducing a whole new Global on February 5th, said Walter Levitt, Senior Vice President of Marketing - Television and Radio, CanWest MediaWorks. Were confident that the magnitude and message of this campaign will resonate with consumers, and play a dynamic role in connecting them with our re-energized Global brand.
The new brand image, which includes both a redesigned logo and refreshed on-air visual identity woven through the networks newscasts, advertising and on-air presentation, will be unveiled on February 5th, 2006 - Super Bowl Sunday - beginning with sign on at 6am ET.
