(VANCOUVER – Thursday, January 19, 2006) Global National and Global Television’s regional newscasts will be partnering to provide Canadians with live, wall-to-wall coverage of Monday’s election night. Audiences nationwide can watch for:
- Live coverage from our national election headquarters anchored by Kevin Newman, joined by each of the local Global newscast providing up-to-the-minute results from your own backyard
- Global National will have immediate analysis from no fewer than 17 live remotes coast-to-coast including each of the major party headquarters: Stephen Harper with Jacques Bourbeau, Paul Martin with Hannah Boudreau, Jack Layton with Ben O’Hara-Byrne, and Gilles Duceppe with Mike Armstrong
- Ipsos-Reid will provide in-depth analysis and instant polling to bring additional context to the vote as it unfolds
- Complete analysis from political panellists: National Post political writer John Ivison, Ipsos-Reid public affairs president Darrel Bricker, and political experts Stephen LeDrew and Ezra Levant

Global National’s live coverage of election night will begin at various times across the country (local time):
British Columbia – 6:30 p.m. Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Maritimes – 8 p.m.
Alberta – 7 p.m. Ontario and Quebec – 9 p.m.
