CanWest MediaWorks named CWC 2006 Employer of the Year

CanWest MediaWorks has been named 2006 Employer of the Year by Canadian Women in Communications (CWC). The CWCs prestigious awards program recognizes outstanding employers and individuals for their contribution to the growth and development of women in the Canadian communications industry. By naming CanWest MediaWorks Employer of the Year, CWC is applauding the opportunities CanWest has created for women to advance their careers within the organization.
Over the past few years, a number of women have been appointed and promoted to senior roles within the company. Training and development opportunities have been created to give employees the tools and skills required to progress in their careers. Mentorship programs have been developed to ensure employees are set up for success.
One shining example of that leadership is Barb Williams, Senior Vice-President of Programming and Production. She has been named by the CWC as 2006 Mentor of the Year. Over the years, Barb has guided a number of women along their career paths.
Both awards will be presented on February 27th in Ottawa at the CWCs Annual Awards Gala.
