Two New Community Newspapers Launched in Ottawa by CanWest MediaWorks Publications Inc.

(Ottawa) CanWest MediaWorks Publications Inc announced today the latest expansion to its Community Publishing portfolio with the introduction of two new community newspapers in Ottawa. The Now EMC Ottawa East and The Now EMC Ottawa-Orléans will publish their first editions Thursday, April 26, 2007.
“With the launch of The Now EMC Ottawa East and The Now EMC Ottawa-Orléans, CanWest will engage readers in these communities with relevant, local content in an attractive easy to read format,” said Maurice Perron, newly appointed General Manager of the two Now EMC publications. “Advertisers will benefit from CanWest’s exceptional flyer distribution services and will have the opportunity to specifically target Ottawa’s east end or reach the entire National Capital Region, Canada’s fourth largest market.”
Distributed each week on Thursdays in the Ottawa Citizen or in Flyer Force packages, The Now EMC Ottawa East and The Now EMC Ottawa-Orléans will focus on news and information relevant to the specific neighbourhoods of Ottawa east of Kent Street and Orleans, respectively.
With the introduction of these latest community newspapers into the Ottawa market, CanWest MediaWorks Publications Inc. welcomes a new strategic marketing and operational alliance with the EMC “Your Community Newspaper,” published by Performance Printing. Through the alliance, the two new publications will join the EMC network, which includes 14 additional weekly editions serving 12 communities.

- weekly flyers from local retailers.
