The Global Television network is wholly-owned by CanWest MediaWorks, broadcasting via 10 television stations, reaching 96% of English-speaking Canada.
Global offers a programming mix of entertainment programs, news and sports aimed primarily at viewers aged 18 to 49, a strategy that has proven to be extremely successful. Global consistently scores many of the top ten programs in Canada, with major ratings hits such as the reality series The Apprentice, Survivor, House and 24. Global National, the network's early-evening newscast, is Canada's most-watched news program with almost a million viewers every weekday. The E! network broadcasts into the major markets of Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton and includes the following stations: CJNT Montreal, CHCH News (Hamilton), CHEK News (Victoria), CHCA News (Red Deer) and CHBC News (Kelowna). In addition to the E! networks high-profile primetime entertainment programming, such as Deal or No Deal and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, each station features local news and other programs targeted to their local markets.
