National Post Appoints Jim Middlemiss as Legal Post Editor

(Toronto, Ontario) Douglas Kelly, Editor-in-Chief of National Post, announced today the appointment of Jim Middlemiss to the position of Legal Post Editor. In this role, Mr. Middlemiss is responsible for the weekly Legal Post pages, covering the legal business scene.
“This is a great opportunity for me to put my imprint on legal business journalism in Canada at the country’s leading daily newspaper,” said Mr. Middlemiss. “I look forward to taking the Legal Post to new heights.”
As Legal Post Editor, Mr. Middlemiss plans to introduce new elements to the section and build on the foundation that has made Legal Post the leading consumer brand for legal news in Canada.
Mr. Middlemiss is a lawyer and journalist who has worked at the law firm Baker & McKenzie LLP and is a former press secretary to an Ontario Attorney General. He was recently editor of Canadian Lawyer magazine. He is the founding editor of Law Times, Ontario’s weekly legal newspaper, and CL InHouse, Canada’s first magazine for general counsel. He began his career as a journalist with the Lawyers Weekly. He has been a contributor to the Financial Post since 1992.
