Vista Launch


The ‘Wow’ started January 30th on Global, the official launch of the Windows Vista® operating system from Microsoft®.

CanWest’s National Sales promotions team worked with Microsoft Canada, M2 Universal & MacLaren McCann to create a campaign that was impossible to miss. Global’s very own line-up spots were customized to incorporate features of Windows Vista. These visually dynamic spots highlighted Global’s top programming within the features of Windows Vista including Windows® Flip 3D, Windows Media® Player, and Windows® Photo Gallery to develop three never been done before media executions!

Three customized features were powered by Windows Vista:

  • Global’s Nightly Line Up featuring Windows Vista Flip 3D
  • Windows into Global Programming featuring Windows Photo Gallery
  • Enhanced Squeezebacks to showcase Windows Media Player

In a Microsoft worldwide competition, over 60 ideas from 26 countries were submitted to promote the launch of Windows Vista.  The Microsoft Canada submission of innovation funds from Microsoft Corporate was one of only 7 concepts that won the green light.
