Extended Market Coverage (EMC)
Extended Market Coverage (EMC) is the distribution complement to Subscribers: as the carrier delivers newspapers to each subscriber household, they are able to distribute EMC packages to the homes of non-subscribers on the same streets.
The EMC package varies from market to market, but may take the form of free community newspapers, Polybag bundles, or flyer wraps. When maximum penetration is required by the advertiser, EMC distribution is vital, and in combination with subscribers provides almost 100% household penetration in each market.
Usually distributed two or three times per week, EMC products (like TMC distribution) can also be used for mass advertising to an entire market or selectively targeted strategies.
